Questions:

1. One of the best kept secrets in the US energy plan is its likely dependence on Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). We will be discussing LNG later in this course. For now, use this resource as a starting point and write up a one page overview of what the LNG plan is for the US and what kind of infrastructure and fuel sources are need to implement this plan.

   
   
   

2. One of the proposed LNG importation facilies is located at Bradwood Landing Oregon. Using Google Earth, find Bradwood Landing and describe the basic topography and geography of the area. In addition, research the history, the environmental impact, and opposition to this facility. Note, just yesterday Feb 16, 2009, the case has been referred back to court for further evaluation.
   
   

   
   
   

3. Another major project that has been quietly occurring in Oregon is the major dredging of the Columbia river (see for instance this press release ). Research and summarize a) the reasons for this project and whether or not you think they are valid and b)the evironmental impact of this project (i.e. where is all the toxic sludge being dumped ...?)
